Breakeven win rate

The win rate needed to break even at a given reward-to-risk ratio — 50% at 1:1, 33% at 1:2, 25% at 1:3.

This is fixed arithmetic rather than opinion, which makes it a useful check on any advertised win rate. If someone claims 85% at 1:3, compare it against the 25% actually required and ask about sample size.

It also explains why 'improve your win rate' is poor advice alone — changing the reward-to-risk changes the win rate you need, often in the opposite direction.
